Alan Rogers Review of Fossumsanden Camping

Nestled amidst the breath-taking scenery of southern Norway, on the shores of Lake Skredvatnet in Hauggrend, Telemark lies Fossumsanden Camping. This idyllic haven for nature lovers offers tranquillity, adventure, and authentic Norwegian charm. This small, intimate site with sloping grounds offers 35 spacious grass touring pitches that aren't numbered and have 10-amp hook-up points with views of the lake and mountains. There are also 14 apartments or log cabins available to hire.

While the emphasis is on simplicity whilst staying here, you'll find all the essential amenities needed for a pleasant stay. There are Clean and modern sanitary facilities, a shared kitchen, a sauna with a plunge pool, and plenty of fishing, swimming and kayaking opportunities, with rental services available for stand-up paddle boards and canoes. You can enjoy the communal grill hut for a BBQ or cosy fire in the evenings during the colder months.

In high season, the campsite is less suitable for large RVs and caravans. The site is small, and sometimes it is impossible to turn a large vehicle on site. Tip: leave your large camper or caravan by the road (R355) and walk down (to the lake) to look for available space
