In comparison with the larger (and justifiably popular) campsites in Drenthe, Camping Vorrelveen is a small site which reflects the pleasant countryside. It is located next to a working farm and enjoys beautiful views. There are just 27 spacious pitches, all with 6A electricity, and the owners do their best to ensure a very personal, tranquil atmosphere. For example, your bread for breakfast will be delivered to your pitch and, in the evening, you can order home made pizzas. This is a prime example of a small, uncomplicated rural campsite.

Around the area of the site are three National Parks which offer great opportunities for walking and cycling. This is also a good base from which to visit the TT motor races in Assen, the open-air Shakespeare theatre in Diever and the beautiful ancient city of Groningen. Vorrelveen is an ideal place for a peaceful, relaxing holiday.

Single toilet block includes a family shower. The same building houses a large room for meals and socialising. Essential supplies kept at the farmhouse. Motorhome services (with pitches on hardstanding). Play area with cable track and children’s fort. Pétanque. Bicycle hire. WiFi throughout. Three new chalets for hire.

Directions to Camping Vorrelveen

Take exit 30 from the A28 following signs to Smilde. Turn right at the third bridge towards Hijken and then immediately turn left towards Vorrelveen. After a further 3 km. the site is on the left.
