This is a beautiful site, a real hidden gem, and just a five-minute drive from Lake Annecy and about half an hour's drive from the town of Annecy. The site is not on the lake but elevated above the lake, with lovely views over the mountains. There are 32 pitches available to hire on site, which are of average size, flat and level and have tree shade. All have E.H.U., but there were no serviced pitches. The small bar serves breakfast every morning, or you can order fresh bread and pastries from the local bakery. In keeping with the site’s tranquil atmosphere, no entertainment is offered, but bicycle hire and a children's playground are available on site.

Located in a small traditional Alpine village, this campsite is ideal for enjoying the great outdoors with plenty of walks and the Lake Annecy. there are 37-kilometre cycle tracks just 500 meters away. If you fancy a swim, there are beaches to access the lake only a kilometre away in Doussard, or of course, you could stay on-site enjoying the peace and tranquillity offered. Annecy is a charming town with colourful buildings and a 12th-century castle, and the nearby Jardins de l’Europe are relaxing and pretty.

It is essential to book this site and do not wait until the last minute as they are much sought-after.

Access is good but do not turn into the entrance where the reception is located, the site entrance is a few meters down the road and clearly marked.

The reception/ bar is opposite the facilities and upon arrival ring the large bell on the wall. (The bar is only open July-Aug ).There is a good selection of supermarkets and local shops close by and a bus service at the bottom of the hill will take you to Annecy.

Facilities at Camping le Taillefer

Facilities were housed on the ground floor of the main chalet where the owner lives and were very clean although a little dated; accessible facilities (the campsite is located on a slope may be an issue for those with reduced mobility), Bar, Snack bar, Shop (small), Bread service, Children's playground, Games room with table tennis table, Bicycle hire, Pets allowed, WiFi.

Directions to Camping le Taillefer

From Annecy take N508 signed Albertville. At traffic lights in Brédannaz turn right and left. Site on left in 1.5 km. Do not turn in by reception (this is a dead end) – wait in road until directions are received.
