Set in the Adamello Brenta National Park, a refuge of the European brown bear, Camping Val Rendena, is an enthusiastically run family site with a very friendly feel. There are 62 level grass touring pitches with some tree shade, all with 6A electricity and spread out between the seasonal pitches. The site’s location makes it an ideal base from which to explore this beautiful region, rich in flora and fauna, where wooded hills with many marked paths reach up to 1,800 m. Beside the site runs the Sarca river, bordered for much of its journey by a cycleway.

The park has several interesting information centres, including one at Spormaggiore, where brown bears can be observed and another in Spiazzo with Alpine fish. In the friendly reception a host of very useful park information is available, informing visitors of what this region has to offer. At the top of the valley is the 1,500 m. high ski resort of Madonna di Campiglio where, below the tree line, forests of larch and pine shade the endless routes for walkers, mountain bike and cycle riders. A bus service is provided by the site to a ski centre just 5 km. away.

Facilities at Camping Val Rendena

Two sanitary units, a small one in the reception block, a larger one at centre of site, have hot water, controllable showers and washbasins in cabins. Accessible Facilities. Baby room. Laundry. Motorhome service area. Shop selling essentials. Solar heated swimming pool with adjoining children’s pool (1/6-30/9). Large playing field. Play area with table tennis and play room. Bicycle hire. Communal barbecue. Massage and other treatments by appointment. Eight apartments and three mobile homes to rent. WiFi at reception (free).

Directions to Camping Val Rendena

Site is 35 km. northwest of Trento. From A22 (E45) Brenner-Verona autostrada take exit for Trento-Centro. Then travel westerly on SS45b to Sarche, then SS237 to Ponte Arche and Tione di Trento. From here head north on SS239 towards Madonna di Campiglio for 10 km. to Darè. Immediately after entering Darè take descending slip road to right then follow camping signs to site beside river. Do not follow GPS instructions to enter a small lane to the right before Darè as this leads to a very narrow, height-restricted bridge.
