The Val de Boutonne campsite is located in Charente-Maritime in Saint Jean d'Angely between La Rochelle and Cognac. This campsite has 99 touring pitches on 2.4 hectares near the Boutonne river. If you want to avoid the crowds and spend a quiet holiday while benefiting from as many activities as possible nearby then this campsite is an ideal place to Stay. All within a hours drive you can find Beaches and fishing villages, Châteaux, Roman ruins, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Wetland walks, bike paths and rivers to paddle a canoe down.
There’s plenty of space to chill out at the wooded site, with an outdoor pool to refresh in, a pétanque court and a children's playground. For the smaller children there is a dedicated pool session a couple of times a week and for all ages themed evenings are held twice a week in summer.
There is a small shop on site that has a range of essentials and is a 20-minute drive to the town centre where you can find local bars and restaurants.
Poitou-Charentes is an old French region on the Atlantic coast, with a rich history dating from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and Roman times. In the coastal town of La Rochelle , the 14th-century Tour Saint-Nicolas overlooks the Old Port. The Ile de Ré and the Ile d'Oléron, 2 low lying islands, known for their oysters and their fishing villages.
