Alan Rogers Review of Camping Rives Nature
In peaceful, rural Southern Brittany on the edge of the town of La Gacilly and next to the River Aff, the small campsite of Rives Nature offers a variety of pitches and accommodation. The 25 touring pitches are spacious (all 120 sq.m) and divided by hedges and there are also luxury tents, trailer caravans and cottages to rent. Vehicles are restricted to certain zones. The nature pitches are green and private, next to the river and near sanitary facilities. Larger comfort pitches have 6A electricity. There is provision for cyclists and ramblers. Designated motorhome stopover pitches (16.00-10.00) have hardstanding and are near sanitary and service facilities, but have no electricity.
An attractive, open area at the centre of the site is used to stage open air concerts and activities in high season. There are marked trails from the site for walkers and cyclists, and canoeing and fishing on the River Aff. The surrounding area has attractive and interesting traditional villages and towns, along with many local festivals and events. On site activities include holiday packages for relaxation, sport, art and photography. Art-Nature-Village is a good base from which to discover some of Brittany’s coastline and beaches, forests, archaeology, villages and towns.

Renovated sanitary blocks (2012) with washbasins in individual cabins, family bathroom, baby bathroom and accessible facilities. Breakfast room. Bar (July/Aug). Washing machine and tumble dryer. Beauty salon. Secure shed for cyclists and ramblers equipment. Motorhome services. Play area. Animation in high season. Hammocks and sun loungers. Fishing in river. WiFi area (free).
Directions to Camping Rives Nature
Site is north of Redon and northeast of Vannes. From Redon take the D164 south and then D873 and D773 to La Gacilly. Follow signs for the site.
