Alan Rogers Review of Camping le Diomedee
Diomedee is situated at the far end of the Gargano peninsula, close to the Foresta Umbra, and is part of a chain. The site has 170 level touring pitches (6A). Some shade is obtained from mature trees and screens, and some flat, beachside pitches are available. A beach-front restaurant/pizzeria offers a varied menu of Italian cuisine and international dishes catering for tourists. It is a great spot to watch the sunset in the summer evenings.
Games, sports tournaments, shows, group dances and disco evenings are activities organised daily by the campsite's entertainment team. The Mini Club entertains children from 4 years upwards with fun games and friendly sporting challenges throughout the day. The outdoor swimming pool is the perfect space to relax when the beach is too windy; centrally located makes it an ideal space for adults to be able to keep an eye on children playing as it is located next to many of the campsite facilities, including the children's play area and sports field.
English is spoken at reception but most signs are in Italian and German. The beach offers rental service of umbrellas and sun loungers, and it is a very popular site for wind- and kite-surfing, as there is a professional school here. Dogs are allowed on the beach in designated areas, This is a very pleasant beachside holiday location popular with German campers.

The large, modernised toilet block has hot water throughout, showers, British-style WCs and washbasins. Accessible Facilities. Washing machines. Motorhome services. Shop and fruit stall. Bar. Restaurant/pizzeria/takeaway. Large swimming pool with loud music. Windsurfing school. Multi-sports pitch. Tennis, Beach volleyball. Children’s entertainment (high season). Free WiFi in the pool area. Charcoal barbecues are not permitted.

Site is 5 km. from Vieste on the winding P52 coast road towards Peschici. Allow extra time for the coast road.
