This campsite can be found at the western end of the Ile de Ré, very close to the imposing Phare des Baleines and just 100 m. from a sandy beach. Pitches are of average size, and most are equipped with 10A electricity. A good selection of mobile homes is available to rent. Leisure facilities here include an attractive pool with a wide sunbathing terrace and a multisport terrain. The bar/restaurant is the focal point for the site, and a range of activities and entertainment take place there throughout the high season, including a daily children’s club.

The Ile de Ré is a cyclists’ paradise with miles of marked tracks, several of which pass close to the site. The nearby village of Ars-en-Ré has been judged one of France’s most beautiful villages and is a delightful place for an evening stroll. The new Phare des Baleines is 57 m. high and has replaced Vauban’s earlier structure. There is a stunning panoramic view of the Charentais coastline from the top.

Directions to Camping la Plage

From La Rochelle cross the toll bridge to the Ile de Ré. Continue on D735 to Ars-en-Ré and then to St Clement-des-Baleines and the Phare des Baleines. The site is well signed from here. Large units should take care when turning into site.
