Camping Hautoreille is a family-friendly site near Langres and the Land of Four Lakes with accompanying water sports galore. Water-skiing, wakeboarding, canoeing and fishing are among the array of watery options. The site is located near the village of Bannes in the Haute-Marne region in the Champagne-Ardenne region, one of the many parts of France stuffed with cheese and wine producers. This is a lush and peaceful setting, in green surrounds with flowers and shrubs placed prettily about.

There is plenty of space to wander. Countryside walks are easy to access, and bike hire is available if you want to venture further (the famed old, fortified town of Langres is seven kilometres away). It is a popular stop off in the area, for its cathedral, Navarre Tower and several other ancient sights. You should also walk the town ramparts, three and a half kilometres' worth including seven fortified towers and seven gateways (some sections of the ramparts are over 2,000 years old). Within twenty kilometres, more history is at the Château du Pailly, said to be the best example of Renaissance architecture in the Champagne-Ardenne, and at the Faverolles Gallo-Roman mausoleum, built in 20BC, even the kids should like this one. The site has one hundred touring pitches with electric hook-up point 10amp.

Directions to Camping Hautoreille

From south on the A31 at exit seven. Take the N19 for 10 km. in the direction of Langes. Turn left at traffic lights before Langres in the direction of Neufchâteau. Continue on D74 to Bannes. The site in on the right, Rue du Boutonnier and signed just before you reach Bannes. From the north on the A31 at exit eight, take the D417 and D74 in the direction of Langres for 15 km. After you have passed through Bannes, the site is on the left Rue du Boutonnier and signed.
