Alan Rogers Review of Camping Domaine de la Faurie
A stunning array of tended shrubs and thoughtful flower planting is spread throughout this very pretty seven-hectare site, which is located on a hilltop with wide-open views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Although hidden away, it is an excellent base for exploring the Lot and Dordogne regions.
The site is separated into two distinct areas, an open, lightly shaded front section and a much more densely shaded area with tall pine trees all around the pitches.
The 54 touring pitches, with 6/10A electricity, are large and most are at least 100 sq.m. A small number also have water and drainage. There are also 37 mobile homes, chalets and tents for hire. The friendly French owners, Clotilde and Christophe will tell you that they consider the site their personal garden.
This accounts for the beautiful presentation. The section of mobile homes, each with its own planted garden, blends in very well with the surroundings. The wooded section of pitches particularly (total 54 touring), has small paths and tight turns which could cause difficulties for larger units.
Facilities at Camping Domaine de la Faurie
The two sanitary blocks are clean and well maintained. Accessible Facilities. Washing machine. Motorhome services. Excellent gift shop selling regional and local produce (bread available), bar, restaurant and takeaway, swimming pool and paddling pool (all open all season). TV and games rooms. Boules. Play area. Small library. Weekly soirées in high season. Children's entertainment, Charcoal barbecues are not permitted. Free WiFi over part of site. Max. 2 small dogs.
