La Semois is an attractive family site, located on the banks of the Semois river in the south of the Belgian Ardennes. This is a tranquil spot and an ideal base for walking, mountain biking and canoeing. The 110 touring pitches are grassy with good shade, but not always level. They are unmarked, but all have 10A electricity. Motorised vehicles are parked at the site entrance to create a tranquil and safe environment. A shallow brook runs through the site and forms a popular play area for children, along with a well equipped playground. The site is most suited to tents and small motorhomes as the entry road is narrow and steep.

Canoeing is very popular and the site owners rent out canoes and will undertake to collect canoeists from points along the river. Children will enjoy the mini-farm with donkeys, goats and Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs. Accommodation to rent on site includes three yurts, two teepees, two large Sahara tents, a Moroccan tent, a Romany-style caravan and a double-decker bus. There are three sanitary blocks, one of which is new and adjoins the reception/bar area. A pleasant terrace by the bar overlooks the site. The villages of Sainte Cécile and Chassepierre are both within walking distance. Chassepierre has drawn many artists over the years, thanks to its Baroque church and attractive setting.

Directions to Camping de la Semois

Approaching from Brussels (A4), take exit 23A and head for Transinne, Maissin and Paliseul on N899. Continue as far as Menuchenet and then take N89 to Bouillon. Beyond Bouillon take N83 to Florenville and Ste. Cécile is 20 km. The site is well signed from here.
