Camping De Gavers is a modern, well organised holiday site in a peaceful location adjacent to a large sports complex, about 5 km. outside Geraardsbergen. A busy site in season, there is good security and a card-operated barrier. Most of the 428 grassy, level pitches are taken by seasonal pitches, but some 70 are left for touring units. Pitches are arranged on either side of surfaced access roads with some hedges and a few trees to provide shade in parts, with electricity available to all (long cables may be required). The site offers an extensive range of sporting activities and a full entertainment programme over a long season.

This is an excellent site for water-based activities and would make a good stopover. Due to the extensive range of activities on offer, it becomes hectic in high season, so booking is advisable. Larger units may have difficulty with access, as the approach is either through a village with parked cars or over a narrow canal bridge.

Six modern, heated and well equipped sanitary buildings provide hot showers on payment (€ 0.50). Modern accessible sanitary facilities. Launderette. Motorhome services. Shop (July/Aug). Restaurant and takeaway (all year). Cafeteria and bars (daily in summer, otherwise weekends). Heated indoor pool (all year). Outdoor pool (seasonal). Excellent playground. Tennis. Boules. Minigolf. Fishing. Sailing. Canoes, windsurfers, pedaloes, yachts and rowing boats for hire. Bicycle hire. Tourist train. Swimming and beach area at the lake. Climbing. Internet in reception.

Directions to Camping De Gavers

From E429/A8 exit 26 towards Edingen, take N255 and N495 to Geraardsbergen. Down a steep hill, then left at site sign towards Onkerzele, through village and turn north to site. From E40/A10 take exit 17 on N42, turn left on to N495 and follow as above.
