Alan Rogers Review of Wellington Country Park

This campsite is situated within the very popular 350-acre Wellington Country Park, open to the public from March to November. The park contains a wide range of amenities: a shop, a café, play areas, twelve-hole minigolf, an animal farm and petting barn, a miniature railway (charged), four nature trails, a deer park and a host of play equipment. Entrance to the Park is included in the campsite fees.

There are 87 pitches, 57 with 6A electricity and 50 on hardstanding. Thirty non-electric pitches are for tents; a few premium pitches offer slightly more privacy. It is a charming setting, and once the park closes at 18.00, all is much quieter. It would be best if you aimed to arrive before 16.30 (low season) and 17.30 (high season) when the main reception centre closes.

Access to the site is through a locked gate (key from reception on check-in). The design of the site with generous individual pitches and some small groups, all within woodland clearings, gives a very rustic and relaxed ambience. The warden lives on the site.
