Situated by a busy road on the outskirts of the Lancashire coastal town of Southport, Riverside Holiday Park covers 80 acres and has a total of 620 pitches. Of these, 200 are for touring units and tents, 70 with 10A electricity, some with hardstanding. The park is level and open with little shade. A narrow unfenced river runs through the park, where fishing in season is possible (licence required). Apart from an outdoor play area for younger children, most of the activities on the park centre around the indoor games room, with live entertainment, a pool room, and a large amusement arcade. Riverside is undergoing a programme of upgrading work including the installation of an ATM (cards are not accepted).

In high season, a family club provides games, fancy dress, discos etc. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the park.

Facilities at Riverside Holiday Park

Three heated toilet blocks (key entry) only one of which has showers. At busy times these could be stretched, although it was clean at the time of our visit. Accessible sanitary facilities. Laundry. Well stocked shop. Large bar with TV. Café. Indoor swimming pool (booking system). Games room. Pool room. Large amusement arcade. Play area. River fishing (with licence). Family club in high season with games, fancy dress, discos etc. Dog walking area. Bus route. WiFi in café.

Directions to Riverside Holiday Park

From the south, M6 exit 26 take M58 to the end, take A59 north towards Preston. From the north, M6 exit 31 take A59 south towards Liverpool/Southport. Both directions, just south of Tarleton, turn west on A565 towards Southport. Park on left in 3 miles.
