As you leave the A38 for Plymouth, negotiate the Marsh Mills roundabout and approach through a light industrial estate, you can have no idea that there is a lush green touring park tucked away from the modern, out-of-town shopping units in a quiet green valley. Part of the park is being developed to provide a residential area alongside the River Plym which has therefore meant a reduction in the number of touring pitches. However, there are still some 200 spaces available for touring, 130 of which have 10A electricity, and 65 are on hardstanding. There are also 59 grass pitches for tents. Hidden behind a high, evergreen hedge are an attractive swimming pool and children’s pool. A play area is nearby and a pleasant restaurant with a bar and games room provide welcome facilities and entertainment in high season.
Over 30 years ago this park was a corn field but, with careful development by its owner, it now provides a welcome oasis from which to explore Dartmoor, to enjoy the amazing views from Plymouth Hoe or even to overnight quietly before catching the ferry to France. The wooded valley sides give way to level grass where the trees and shrubs planted all those years ago have matured to give a park-like feel. The River Plym runs down one side of the site but it is carefully fenced.

Three modern, fully equipped toilet blocks include cubicles with toilets and washbasins. Accessible sanitary facilities. Laundry room. Motorhome services. Gas supplies. Some basics are kept in reception (more in high season). Bar, restaurant and takeaway (B.Hs and high season) with family entertainment included. Heated swimming pool and paddling pool (end May-12/9). Games room with TV. Play area. WiFi part site (free). Dogs accepted (max. 2).
Directions to Riverside Caravan Park
From the A38 Marsh Mills roundabout for Plymouth take the third exit. After a few yards turn left following caravan signs, then right alongside the River Plym to the park.
