A most peaceful and spacious site, Resort de Arendshorst is located about 2.5 hours East of the Hook of Holland and could make a convenient stopover on the way to Germany or Scandinavia. Michael, the owner and his family, are friendly and accommodating, and the friendly staff all speak English, with an English language handbook given to guests upon arrival. The onsite restaurant and bar are popular and of high quality. The facilities are all immaculate, with hot water for showers and washing up available with a pre-paid card.

Pitches are large, with many offering waste-water, electric and freshwater hookups. The area around the site is perfect for cycling, with the Fietsknoop network accessible from just outside the campsite. Local towns of Ommen, Vilsterren, Dedemsvaart, and Zwolle are all accessible through the cycle network, almost always avoiding even the most minor roads.

Riverside plots are available and offer the opportunity to spot some of the local wildlife. A shallow beach area provides ample opportunity for river swimming, though the river can be deep in places, so some care must be taken.

Small shop for basics including fresh bread (which is baked on premises daily). Dutch fishing licenses and bait as well other fishing attributes. Bar and restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as take-ways. Spectacular countryside, villages, hamlets and other places of interest which are best explored by bike or on foot using the extensive walking paths and dedicated cycle lanes. Bike and canoe rental is available on site.

Directions to Resort de Arendshorst

Take exit 21 of the A28 (Exit Ommen – Hardenberg) and follow the N340 for 7.5km past the traffic lights and turn off for the town of Dalfsen. Stay on the same road (N340) for another 7km. Resort de Arendshrost is signposted along the N340 with brown/white signs. Follow the Arendshorsterweg for 1km until the end of the road until you reach the barrier. The reception is on your right hand side.
