Alan Rogers Review of Red Shoot Camping Park
Red Shoot is set in the heart of the New Forest, on four acres of level and slightly sloping grass meadows. A simple, rural retreat with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and forest, it is very popular in high season. A cattle grid at the entrance keeps the New Forest animals outside the park. There are 110 good sized pitches, 50 with 10A electricity, served by a gravel access road. There is no site lighting, so a torch would be useful.
The adjacent Red Shoot Inn (separate ownership) serves meals and brews its own real ales – Forest Gold and Tom’s Tipple. There are ample opportunities for walking, cycling and naturalist pursuits in the area. Local attractions include watersports at the New Forest Water Park near Ringwood, a Doll Museum in Fordingbridge, cider making in Burley, and Breamore House just north of Fordingbridge. Nearby Ringwood has a market on Wednesday.
Facilities at Red Shoot Camping Park
The toilet and shower facilities have been upgraded to a high standard with underfloor heating, a family shower room with baby bath and changing area. Well equipped laundry room. Good accessible unit . Very well stocked, licensed shop with fresh bread and croissants. Bar. Fenced adventure-style playground.
