This spacious site is continually being improved and is owned by the RCN group. It has well-drained, level, generous, grassy pitches, most for touring, all with electricity (6-10A). Beech hedges and abundant mature trees provide ample privacy and shade. A bar/restaurant with a terrace is open all season next to the attractive pool complex, comprising two heated swimming pools, a paddling pool and an ample sunbathing space surrounded by gardens and grassy areas.

The site becomes lively in July and August with many organised activities and entertainment. Twin-axle caravans are not accepted, and large outfits should phone ahead. The site has five areas, each named after one of the local valleys.

The views of the mountains that surround the site are magnificent. Furthermore, the valley itself enjoys sunshine for most of the day. This is a friendly and well-run site (English, German and Dutch spoken), suitable for relaxing or as a base for exploring this famous mountain area. Take to the hills for the sights and scents of the many rare and protected wildflowers. Serious cyclists revere the region as it is often used for the ‘King of the Mountain’ in the Tour de France. The campsite also caterers for the cycling enthusiast and has a bicycle workshop on site.

Two well-appointed sanitary blocks, one renovated, include baby rooms and accessible facilities. Shop. Bar/restaurant and takeaway (All season). Two swimming pools and a paddling pool. Sauna. Hamman, Tennis. Good play area. Multisport pitch, Large meadow with fitness course. Football field. Entertainment team during the summer. WiFi throughout (Free), strongest at the main building.

Directions to RCN Belledonne

From Grenoble get on the A480 and follow the A480, N85, D1091 and D591, after which you get back on D1091. Keep following D1091 until you reach Rochtaillée, where you have to turn left onto D526 (sings for Allemont/Vuajany/Villard-Reculas, you will see Hotel le Belledonne). The campsite will be on your right hand after about 200 metres.
