Alan Rogers Review of Païsserou
This site, owned by a large leisure company, is off the beaten track at the bottom of a deep valley beside the bubbling River Aveyron. It has 98 mostly level, grassy pitches, 42 used for stone built chalets and bungalows and 56 for touring (10A electricity). Most are separated by hedges and shaded by very tall trees and 23 are sited by river. Campers who stay a week more have access to the adjacent, large municipal swimming pool. In July and August there are some family activities with many more at the watersports centre next door.
Although Najac is only 2 km. away, it is up a very steep and winding road. Access is not easy for large and underpowered units.
Facilities at Païsserou
Two modern, well equipped toilet block with facilities for babies and accessible facilities. Motorhome services. Bar with TV and games. Restaurant and takeaway (July/Aug). Weekly market selling local produce and takeaway pizzas (July/Aug). Playground. Large field for games. Fishing. Bicycle hire. Communal barbecues only.
Directions to Païsserou
Take the D922 south from Villefranche-de-Rouergee for 20 km. At La Fouillade turn right on D39, signed Najac. In the village, following signs to site, turn very hard left downhill and shortly turn right.
