Attractively laid out among low pine trees, some twisted by the wind into interesting shapes, Orbitur Camping Guincho is located behind dunes and a wide, sandy beach. With a railway and motorway connection to Lisbon, the site provides a good base for combining a seaside holiday with a sightseeing visit to Portugal’s fascinating capital.

There is space for over 400 touring units alongside seasonal pitches and rental accommodation. They are generally small, although larger units can be accommodated. Manoeuvring amongst the trees may be tricky, particularly when the site is full. Electrical connections (6A) are available throughout. Cascais is an interesting seaside town with plenty of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants.

A circular bus route runs from outside the site to the town and railway station from where there is a good service to Lisbon. Just along the coast is the headland of Cabo Raso and to the north beyond the range of hills known as the Sierra de Sintra lies another headland, the Caba Roca, and the busy town of Sintra. Estoril is another possible destination for a day out in search of retail therapy and the southern coast towards Lisbon has a number of good beaches and pleasant resorts.

Three sanitary blocks, one refurbished, are in the older style and could do with some refurbishment, but they are clean and tidy. Open-style washbasins with cold water but hot showers. Accessible Facilities. Washing machines and dryers. Motorhome services. Gas. Supermarket. Bar with excellent restaurant and takeaway (all year). Terrace. Swimming pool (Seasonal). General room with TV. Tennis. Playground. Entertainment in summer. WiFi on part of the site (free). Chalets to rent.

Directions to Orbitur Guincho

Cascais is 33 km. west of Lisbon. From A5 motorway exit 11 take N247 for 2 km. towards Cascais. At roundabout turn west (site signed) to site in 2.5 km.
