Camping le Phare is a member of the Tohapi group and is located to the south of Boulogne-sur-Mer, with easy access to an excellent sandy beach. There are 344 pitches, 88 for touring, 56 of these have electrical connections (6A). There are also 14 mobile homes to rent. Le Phare comes to life in the high season with an activity and entertainment programme for all ages. On-site amenities include a small shop and bar (all season) but a wide range of restaurants, cafés and shops are available in Le Portel and in nearby Boulogne.

Boulogne is a lively town with a number of notable attractions, including the UNESCO-listed 11th-century bell tower. It is also home to Nausicaä, the French National Sea Centre with its excellent aquarium. Boulogne remains France’s largest fishing port with no fewer than 7,000 occupants deriving their living from fishing. From the campsite, there are some excellent cliff top walks, with views across the Channel to England’s white cliffs.

One toilet block is closed and the other two have been partly refurbished to provide WCs including hot showers and washbasins. Accessible facilities, Washing machines and dryers. Friendly reception with small shop and bar. Takeaway. Play area. Games room, Entertainment and activity programme (July/Aug). WiFi over site (charged). Mobile homes to rent.

Directions to Opal Lighthouse Campsite

Approaching from the north (Boulogne), leave A16 motorway at exit 29 the Boulogne exit and head south on N1 and then D236 following signs to Outreau and Le Portel. The site is well signed from Le Portel.
