Camping Apple Island is a new site, attractively located on an island on Lake Grabuostas, around 60 km. north of Vilnius. The site is named after the island where some 2,500 apple trees were planted at the beginning of the nineteenth century. A little bridge leads to the site, which offers some attractive tent pitches (no electricity) on sloping terrain in the shade of apple trees. Additionally, there are 24 hardstanding pitches with electricity, water and drainage, all of which are level and of a good size. These pitches also have a grass area with private picnic bench.

Leisure facilities here include tennis, boules, volleyball and minigolf, and there is an attractive lakeside beach with barbecue facilities. The central building, formerly a barn, houses a welcoming bar/restaurant with good value meals and an adjacent covered terrace. A games room with table tennis is on the first floor and a billiard table in the cellar. This site, under Dutch ownership, is one of the best that we have seen in Lithuania. This region is predominantly made up of forests, lakes and rolling hills. In all, there are more than 300 lakes, including the largest in Lithuania, Lake Asveja.

Modern sanitary facilities in the main block provide British style toilets, washbasins (cold water only) and preset hot showers (token operated). Shower tokens are sold at reception. Accessible facilities, Washing machine and dryer (free). Bar/restaurant. Childrens playground, Minigolf. Fishing. Boules. Volley ball court, Tennis. Sauna. Rowing boat hire. Paddle boarding, kayaking, Lakeside beach. Communal BBQ area, Internet access.

Directions to Holiday Park Apple Island

From the A14 (Vilnius-Utena) road, follow signs to Luokesa (before reaching Moletai). Follow signs to Ambraziskiai and pass through Žalvariai village. The site is signed on the left, and this road leads across the bridge onto the island.
