This friendly site sits high in the hills east of the Basque town of Zarautz and has commanding views over the bay and the island of Getaria. Of the 540 pitches, 450 are for touring units, with 6A electricity; ten also have water and drainage. The remaining pitches are for tents and seasonal caravans. The grass pitches are of average size, shaded by mature trees, and those on the perimeter have superb sea views.

Gran Camping Zarautz offers a variety of facilities to enjoy a holiday here all year round; some services include table tennis, a football field, an indoor playground, and wellness facilities with a gym and sauna. For food options, the campsite has a restaurant designed for all audiences, serving traditional Spanish dishes and international cuisine. There is a communal BBQ area for those who like to cook, and you can purchase any food needed at the on-site shop.

A new footpath leads down to the ruins of a once busy iron ore works and a small exhibition. This path continues along the coastline for 1.5 km. into Zarautz, but does involve a lot of steep steps. The town of Zarautz offers a cultural programme in summer and the pedestrian promenade with modern sculptures is a good vantage point to enjoy the beach and watch the surfers.

Three well-equipped toilet blocks, one of which is modern. A sauna, gym, and spa area are above this block. Separate facilities for children and four large accessible toilet/shower rooms. Laundry facilities. New motorhome service point. Well-stocked shop. Restaurant with ‘menu del día’ and à la carte meals. Bar/snack bar with TV plus terrace. Communal barbecue area with picnic tables. Directions to Gran Camping Zarautz

Zarautz is 20 km. west of San Sebastián. From A8 (San Sebastián-Bilbao) take exit 11 for Zarautz and straight on through two roundabouts and follow signs to site. If using the N634 coast road, site is signed near km. 17 marker.
