Frykenbadens Camping is a well cared for campsite in a quiet wooded area on the southern shore of Lake Fryken, taking around 180 units on grassy meadows surrounded by trees. One area nearer the lake is gently sloping, the other is flat with numbered pitches arranged in rows, 150 with electricity (10A) and 11 with hardstanding.

Reception, a good shop, restaurant and takeaway are located in a traditional Swedish house surrounded by lawns sloping down to the shore, with minigolf, a play barn and playground, with a pet area also close by. Frykenbadens Camping is a quiet, relaxing place to stay, away from the busier and more famous lakes.

Tables and benches are near the lake, where swimming and canoeing are possible. A good value restaurant is at the adjacent golf club which can be reached by a pleasant walk. Fryken is a long, narrow lake, said to be one of the deepest in Sweden, and it is a centre for angling.

There are plenty of other activities in the area (riding, skiing in winter) and Kil is not too far from the Norwegian border.

Facilities at Frykenbadens Camping

The two sanitary blocks are of a good standard and heated in cool weather with showers on payment, open washbasins, a laundry room and an accessible facilities. Well equipped campers’ kitchen. Motorhome services. Shop. Pub serving food. Minigolf. Play barn and playground. Boules. Lake swimming. Canoes, rowing boats and bicycles for hire. WiFi (charged).
