Alan Rogers Review of Flower Camping le Rompval
Le Rompval is a former municipal site located in the pleasant seaside resort of Mers-les-Bain, around 25 km. West of Abbéville, at the mouth of the Bresle river. There are 132 pitches (79 for touring), which are grassy and good-sized. All are equipped with 8A electricity, and 30 have water and wastewater connections. 53 pitches are occupied by chalets (28 available to rent).
The site boasts some interesting architecture and several amenities, including a small shop, takeaway food service, and a heated, covered pool and paddling pool. The nearest beach is 2.5 km. distant. This is a great sweep of sand, ideal for sand yachting and windsurfing. Mers is an attractive resort with all normal services, including a supermarket. It is closely linked with its neighbours, Eu and Le Tréport. The older part of the town was developed in the later 19th century as the popularity of seaside holidays grew.
Many of these villas are now listed buildings. Amongst others, Jules Verne, Victor Hugo and Gustave Eiffel spent their summer holidays here. The towering chalk cliffs to the north of the town provide some excellent walks with fine panoramic views.

Directions to Flower Camping le Rompval
Approaching from the north, leave the A16 motorway at exit 23 (Abbeville Nord). Briefly join the southbound A28 and then take D925 to Eu. Here, head west on D1015 to Mers-les-Bains and follow signs to the site.
