This site occupies a prime position on an island in the River Loire within walking distance of the centre of the historic town of Saumur. The 150 touring pitches are mainly on grass with plenty of shade provided by mature trees, with 10A electricity and 46 also have water and drainage. Fourteen hardstandings nearer the entrance can be rather dusty in dry weather. Ile d’Offard is useful as an overnight stop on the journey south (or north) but it is also an excellent base from which to visit the numerous châteaux in the region.

Indeed, the château and other historic buildings of Saumur, as well as its shops, bars and restaurants, are within walking distance. From the town buses and trains will take you to many of the other delightful towns of the Loire Valley. On site, an attractive modern bar and restaurant, serving varied (if slightly pricey) food overlook a heated pool with paddling and spa pools. Fishing is possible in the Loire and there is direct access from the site (permits are available from Saumur).

Facilities at Flower Camping de l’Ile d’Offard

Three unisex sanitary blocks, one heated in winter, include accessible facilities. Block one has a well equipped laundry. The other blocks are only open in high season. These facilities are generally kept reasonably clean and have been updated. Motorhome services. Bar, restaurant and takeaway, heated outdoor swimming, paddling and spa pools (1/5-30/9). Play area. Some activities and a children’s club, wine tastings, etc. in high season. WiFi throughout (free).

Directions to Flower Camping de l’Ile d’Offard

From north and A85 exit 3, take D347 south (Saumur). After 2.5 km. go left at roundabout signed ‘Saumur touristique’. Follow old road towards river and town. Cross bridge onto island and immediately go left at roundabout. Site is ahead in 1 km.
