Alan Rogers Review of Domaine Naturiste de Lambeyran
A wooded valley covering 348 hectares, Domaine de Lambeyran is in the Guinness Book of Records for having the largest area available for naturists in the world. Set in a natural area, it has amazing views across to Lodève and of the spectacular surrounding countryside.
Naturists can enjoy the marked trails around the valley or the large, heated pool whilst choosing from 130 huge touring pitches, 100 with electricity (5/10A) and many quite private. Where necessary, the pitches have been levelled with the local stone which has also been used to create short stairways in the terrain. So vast is the space available that some pitches are up to 250 sq.m. and all are separated by an abundance of wild shrubs, flowers and trees.
Some of the facilities, such as the toilet blocks are becoming tired and in need of a refresh.
The facilities around the large pool area form the heart of the site, which comes to life in the evenings when the pool is floodlit and the bar and snack bar are open; a programme of activities is organised in high season. A small stream runs through the site and offers safe fun for the children.
Facilities at Domaine Naturiste de Lambeyran
Two large tiled toilet blocks which are in need of some refurbishment and a smaller one are fully equipped, including baby baths, Washing machine. Small shop, bar and snack bar (all 7/6-31/8). Large, solar-heated swimming pool (from 20/5) floodlit at night and with paddling pool and sunbathing terrace. Some play equipment for children and indoor area for older children. Dancing, films and organised trips such as canoeing down the Orb Gorges. Communal barbecue area. Dogs are only allowed in one area.
Directions to Domaine Naturiste de Lambeyran
Lodève is 50 km. west of Montpellier. From A75 (Béziers, Clermont-Ferrand) take exit for Lodève and follow signs for town centre. Cross town following signs for Lunas (D35). Ignore right turn for les Plans and take next right (site signed) and continue up hill for 3 km. to site.
