Alan Rogers Review of Camping Sandaya Les Rivages
Camping Sandaya Les Rivages is a large, well established site on the outskirts of the town. It is well situated, being close to the high limestone Causses and the dramatic gorges of the Tarn and Dourbie. Smaller pitches, used for small units, abut a pleasant riverside space suitable for sunbathing, fishing and picnics.
Most of the 314 pitches are large and well-shaded. A choice of site packages is offered, with ‘Privilège’ being the largest at 130-150 sq.m. All pitches have electricity (10A), and 42 have water and drainage. The site offers a very wide range of sporting activities, close to 30 in all.
Don’t miss the night markets, but avoid eating before you get there! There are thousands of things to taste, many of them grilled or spit roasted. Millau is a bustling and pleasant town with easy access via a footpath from the site. The gates are closed 23.00-08.00, with a night-watchman.
Facilities at Camping Sandaya Les Rivages
Four well-kept, modern toilet blocks have all the necessary facilities, including accessible facilities. Special block for children. Small shop (high season). Terrace, restaurant and bar overlooking heated swimming pool complex with paddling pool and spa (from the start of May). Play area. Entertainment, largely for children, child-minding, mini club. Impressive sports centre with tennis (indoor and outdoor), squash and badminton. Boules. River activities, walking, birdwatching, fishing. WiFi (free in the bar area).
Directions to Camping Sandaya Les Rivages
From Millau, cross the Tarn bridge and take D991 road east towards Nant. Site is 400 m. from the roundabout on the right, on the banks of the Dourbie river.
