This is a small, adult-only campsite tucked away in the charming Alentejo, about 60 km due east of ancient Evora. This is the jewel in the region's crown, with fabulous sightseeing, including the cathedral, elegant squares, Roman temple and Chapel of Bones for starters. There's so much cultural richness that the whole town is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The nearest village is Rosário, just 2 km away.

The campsite setting is rural and peaceful, surrounded by countless olive trees on the rolling hillsides. Pitches (all 6A) are of a good size, and level and benefit from the shade provided by the olive trees dotted about. There's plenty to do, including fishing, bird watching, wine tasting, star gazing (this is an internationally recognised Dark Sky Reserve), canoeing and wonderful hiking around the vast Lake Alqueva. A simple but pleasant swimming pool is most welcome for cooling off on hot days.

Facilities at Camping Rosário

Centrally positioned sanitary block equipped with separate hot showers, lavatories, chemical disposal and the option of doing laundry and washing up. Charcoal barbecue for communal use. Drinks and snacks are served in the shade of the veranda or underneath the orange trees of the farmhouse terrace. Comfortable lounge with TV, books, games and a charging station for your portable devices.

Directions to Camping Rosário

From Lisbon take the A6 and exit in Borba. Follow the N255 until Alandroal. Don't go into town but continue until you find a sign directing you to Elvas and Juromenha via the N373. Exit after 1.5 km in direction Rosário. The campsite is 2 km outside the village.
