Alan Rogers Review of Camping Roca Grossa
Roca Grossa’s owners, the Bachs family, are very friendly and there is a very happy atmosphere in the campsite. Very steep slopes predominate at this site and there is a challenging 1 in 3, 100 m. climb from reception to the swimming pool set at the top of the site. From June, a road train runs all day to ferry you up to the amenities, but the site is unsuitable for those with mobility isssues. The bonus is some great views over the sea from most of the terraced, but flat and reasonably sized pitches. The site Landrover will be used to position your caravan, whilst short-stay motorhomes are parked at the bottom of the hill.
The permanent section of pitches is separated from the touring pitches and everything is kept very smart and clean. There is a new children’s play area at the top of the site, next to the pleasant pool, which enjoys fabulous views, and the small restaurant/bar here is open all day. The sports facilities are also at this lofty point and if you wish to shop or use the main bar and restaurant, catch the train to the lower area near reception. The beach is just 50 m. across the road and the town is a short walk.
Facilities at Camping Roca Grossa
An amazing array of clean sanitary blocks means there is not far to walk from any area of the site. Large and small, all blocks are well kept with hot water throughout. Washing machines. Gas. Shop. Pleasant bars and restaurants. Swimming pool (1/5-25/9; with lifeguard). Playground. Road train. Tennis. Sports courts. Recreation programme including entertainment for the whole family (July/Aug). Excursions. WiFi over site (charged) and free wifi zone. ATM.
Directions to Camping Roca Grossa
From AP7 (Girona-Barcelona) take exit 9 or 10 for Malgrat del Mar /Blanes / Calella on the N11. Turn south towards Calella and site is at 665 km. marker sharing an entrance with another campsite.
