This lovely site is just a 30-minute drive from Calais, ideal for a first or last night. Established and run by the same family for over 30 years, English is spoken, access to the site is easy, and the site is on the outskirts of the village. Facilities are good, clean and modern, and pitches are spacious and separated by established hedging, at present there are 63 pitches, but the site is being extended to accommodate 90 pitches later this year; there are also 23 chalet bungalows available to rent, and pets are allowed in these units, a dog walk is also within the site perimeter.

Very much a family-friendly site with a lovely heated pool area and a top-rated children’s play area, with the bar/restaurant outside terrace overlooking the pool area.

This is a region steeped in Anglo-French history; Henry VIII met François I in the most resplendent setting – the Field of the Cloth of Gold – just to talk! The Flemish towns of Ardres and Guines are worth a visit. Nearby Saint Omer, founded by the Benedictine monks, has beautiful museums and was the birthplace of both the Army Catering Corps and the RAF. Close by is a huge preserved German bunker and La Coupole. The site is located in the Parc Naturel Régional des Caps et Marais d’Opale; Cap Blanc Nez and Cap Gris Nez are famous landmarks for Channel swimmers and visitors to France and between them is the Côte d’Opale with numerous little sandy beaches and attractive villages – the beach at Wimereux is recommended by the site. Lovers of porcelain will enjoy a visit to nearby Desvres, famous for its faïence.

Licques is 27 km. south of Calais. From A26 leave at exit 2 (Licques) head southwest on D217 to Licques. Turn south on D215/D191 and site is on left in 1 km.
