This municipal site is pleasantly and quietly situated on the southern side of Munich in parkland formed by the River Isar conservation area, 4 km. southwest of the city centre (there are subway and bus links) and tall trees offer shade in parts. The large city of Munich has much to offer and the Thalkirchen site becomes quite crowded during the season. There are 550 touring pitches, all with 10A electricity and shared water and waste water. The pitches are of various sizes (some quite small), marked by metal or wooden posts and rails. The site is very busy (and noisy) during the Beer Festival (mid-September - early October), but is well maintained.

Like many city sites, groups are put in one area. American style motorhomes are accepted. Pleasant walks may be taken in the adjacent park and the world famous Munich Zoo is just 15 minutes walk along the river from the site.

Five refurbished toilet blocks, two of which can be heated, with seatless toilets, washbasins with shelf, mirror and cold water. Hot water for showers and sinks is on payment. Accessible Facilities. Washing machines and dryers. Shop. Snack bar with covered terrace. Drinks machine (incl. beer). General room with TV, pool and games. Good small playground. Bicycle hire. Dormitory accommodation for groups. Office hours 07.00-23.00. Maximum stay 14 days.

From autobahns follow Mittel ring road to southeast of the city centre where site is signed; also follow signs for Thalkirchen or the Zoo and site is close. Well signed now from all over the City.
