This large campsite is in a lovely setting at the side of one of the many lakes in this area. The route to get here is beautiful, and it is well worth the trip, but careful driving was necessary in parts with our large motorhome.

A smaller, older part of the campsite houses reception, a small shop and a bar/restaurant. Here are medium-sized pitches shaded by pine trees with a small river running through them. By the entrance are 18 new, fully serviced, hardstanding pitches. Over a wooden bridge is the main, newer part of the site with over 200 level, gravel and sand pitches of mixed sizes, shaded again by pine trees. Electricity is 6A on most pitches.

There is a new sanitary block (cleaner and more modern than the one the other side) plus two barbecue areas. Another small stream runs towards the lake which can be seen from a few of the pitches. Towards one end of this new site is the swimming pool complex with two pools surrounded by hedges and grass for sunbathing, more toilets and places to eat, drink and have fun. In summer, children’s club activities are run from here and this is definitely the part of the campsite with a lot going on. The site is increasingly popular with Spanish campers who come to relax and enjoy watersports activities in a beautiful area.

Three modern toilet blocks have hot showers, washbasins in cabins and accessible facilities. Small shop. Simple restaurant, snacks and bar. Swimming and paddling pools (high season). Play area. Children’s activities (4-12 yrs, July/Aug).

Directions to Camping Los Batanes

On E5/NIV Córdoba-Madrid road (south of Madrid) take 430 road towards Albacete. Coming into Ruidera turn right (just after lake on the right) signed Lagunas de Ruideria. Drive 8 km. along this country road to site on right.
