Alan Rogers Review of Camping l’Etang des Forges
Belfort (known as the City of the Lion) is a historic fortified town with much history. Although 178 pitches are marked out, this very spacious site only uses 90 of them, and you should always be able to find room here. The pitches are all on level, mostly open ground divided by bushes. A few trees around one end give a little shade to some pitches and there is (6A) to all pitches and a good supply of water taps. The region has a wealth of footpaths and cycle trails. There are also opportunities for ballooning and hang-gliding.
Suitable as an overnight stop but, if you decide to stay longer, Mulhouse with its old car museum is only 25 km. and a day trip into Basle is 64 km. There are also the Haut-Vosges mountains to climb.

Single modern sanitary building (heated in cool weather) provides washbasins in cubicles. Accessible facilities. Washing machine and dryer. Motorhome services. Outdoor swimming pool (6/6-9/9). Small playground. TV Room. Bar/snack bar (6/6-4/9). Volleyball, basketball and archery (high season). WiFi.

Site is northeast of town centre towards Offemont, adjacent to the lake and sports facilities (well signed).
