La Isla is beside the road from Potes to Fuente Dé, with many mature trees giving good shade and glimpses of the mountains above. Established for over 25 years, a warm welcome awaits you from the owners (who speak good English) and a most relaxed and peaceful atmosphere exists here. All the campers we spoke to were delighted with the family feeling of the site. The 106 unmarked pitches are arranged around an oval gravel track under a variety of fruit and ornamental trees. Electricity (6A) is available to all pitches, although some need long leads. A brilliant small bar and restaurant are located under dense trees where you can enjoy the relaxing sound of the river which runs through the site.

Everything here is in the traditional style and very pleasing. There are opportunities for riding and 4x4 safaris (site provides details) in the region, together with all the other mountain sports and active outdoor pursuits.

Single, clean and smart sanitary block retains the style of the site. Washbasins with cold water. Washing machine. Gas supplies. Freezer service. Small shop and restaurant/bar (1/4-30/9). Small swimming pool (caps compulsory; 1/5-30/9). Play area. Barbecue area. Fishing. Bicycle hire. Riding. Free WiFi throughout.

Directions to Camping la Isla Picos de Europa

From A8/N634 (Santander-Oviedo) take km. 272 exit for Unquera. Take N621 south to Panes and up spectacular gorge for approx. 15 km. (care needed if towing) to Potes. Take CA185 to Fuente Dé and site is on the right, 2.5 km. beyond Potes.
