Situated in rolling Haute-Loire countryside, this pleasant municipal site is ideal for exploring the area and the historic old town of St Didier. The sheltered site is attractively laid out on three grassy terraces – with the lower terraces mostly for tourers. There are 74 pitches (18 occupied by private mobile homes and 11 chalets to rent). All have electricity (15A) and 15 have water and drainage. There is plenty of shade from the surrounding trees. There is an excellent municipal pool and sports ground opposite, free to campers. The town has markets on Wednesdays and Sundays. The friendly, English-speaking managers have a vast knowledge of the local area.

Elise (manager) has compiled an extensive catalogue of interesting walks and tours that take in the sites of interest, both in the charming old town and in the surrounding area. As she has experience in the local tourist office, there is not much that she does not know, and she will be happy to suggest visits.

Two older style sanitary blocks include washbasins in cabins (warm water). Accessible Facilities double as family room. Washing machine. Playground. Barrier card deposit. WiFi (free). Outdoor swimming pool, Archery, Fishing.

Directions to Camping la Fressange

Site is 20 km. southwest of St Etienne. It is signed on N88 just south of Pont Salomon. Take D471 (St Didier) and at La Séauve turn left on D12 and follow signs to St Didier. On entering town take second right (Lichemialle), descend hill and turn left immediately at tennis courts.
