Camping la Forêt is an attractive, well run site with a friendly family atmosphere, thanks to the hard working owners, M. and Mme. Jolivet. Many visitors return year after year. It provides just 61 pitches with 46 for touring units. They are of a reasonable size and surrounded by mature hedges; all have water and electricity (10A), and some also have drainage. A variety of trees provide shade to every pitch. There are 16 mobile homes to rent (from 5 April) and one tour operator on site (11 pitches), but their presence is not intrusive and the site has a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. You are advised not to enter the site without checking pitch availability. Staff offer assistance with pitching your caravan.

La Forêt is an ideal choice for couples or families with young children wanting to be close to the sea but not looking for on-site entertainment and activities. The owners run their site on sound ecological principles and have invested heavily in measures to save energy and help the environment. The beach is just a 400 m. walk away, while the lively resort of Saint Jean-de-Monts with a wide choice of shops, bars and restaurants plus daily markets, is just 6 km. away. Possible days out include a boat trip to the Ile d’Yeu or a gentle drive up the coast to the attractive Ile de Noirmoutier (reached by bridge or, at low tide, a causeway). A wide range of activities and tourist attractions is available in the area. English and German are spoken.

The central toilet block includes hot showers and washbasins in cubicles and a family room. Laundry facilities. Baby bath. Accessible Facilities. Motorhome waste tanks can be emptied on request. Basic provisions sold in reception, including fresh bread (June-Aug). Takeaway (15/5-15/9). Small heated outdoor swimming pool (1/5-15/9). Small games room with TV. Play area. Bicycle hire. Fishing. Only gas and electric barbecues allowed, communal barbecue in centre of site. WiFi throughout (charged). Not suitable for American-style motorhomes.

Directions to Camping la Forêt

St Jean-de-Monts is 55 km. northwest of La Roche-sur-Yon. The site is 6 km. north of St Jean just off D38 towards Notre Dame-de-Monts. At southern end of Notre Dame, turn west at sign for site and Plage de Pont d’Yeu. Bear left and site is on left in 200 m.
