Alan Rogers Review of Camping la Chapoulière
Camping la Chapoulière is a medium sized site, alongside the Ardèche river, some two kilometres south of Ruoms. Grassy banks allow easy access to the river with a deeper area for bathing. The site is in two areas: the upper level, above the pool, has chalets and touring pitches; the older, more established area is for touring pitches nearer the river, with some chalets/mobile homes close to the restaurant. Trees provide dappled shade. There are 134 fairly level touring pitches (no hedges) on sand and grass, all with 6/8A electricity. This site is a good choice for those who prefer to make their own entertainment, and many visitors return year after year, creating a lively community and a sociable atmosphere.
The gym and wellness centre are popular, and some activities are organised in high season. It is a good base for exploring the medieval villages in this area.

Modern and adequate sanitary blocks. Facilities for babies and accessible facilities in the main block. Preset hot showers and some washbasins in cabins. Washing machine. Shop (June/Aug), bread to order all season. Bar (April-Sept). Restaurant (July/Aug and w/ends). Pizza takeaway. Heated swimming pool. Spa and fitness centre with Hammam and massage. Play area. Games room with large TV screen. Organised activities (July/Aug). Riding trips. River bathing. Fishing. Canoe trips. WiFi on most of site (free).
