The pretty and typically Romanian village of Carta (or Cirta as it is spelt on some old Russian-era road signs) is almost in the centre of Romania, north of the Fagaras mountains (highest peak Moldoveanu 2544 m.) in a broad valley. To reach the site you have to cross a small, flat, concrete bridge so those with very large units and those over 3.5 tonnes will find it difficult. The site has 30 level pitches on a spacious field, 12 with 6A electricity connections. A restaurant is open in the spring and again later on in the season. Horse and carriage rides may be possible.
For a chance to see Romanian rural life at its best you should plan to visit this delightful village and campsite. The town of Sibiu is about 30 minutes away and is worthy of a visit.
Facilities at Camping de Oude Wilg
Modern sanitary block with clean toilets, hot showers and washbasins. Washing machine and dryer. Small restaurant (open spring, then later in the season). Caravans, tents and apartments to rent. Communal BBQ area, Pets allowed, WIFI.

Carta (Cirta) is 3 km. north of the 1/E68 road between Sibiu and Fagaras and 1 km. east of the junction with the 7C. As you go through the village turn left on an unmade road towards this small site.
