This well-cared-for site lies just outside the walls of the bastide town of Navarrenx. Many bushes and trees have been planted, and a total of 54 touring pitches are available either on hardstanding with full services or on grass, the latter having more shade. A traffic-free track leads to the town where all essential shops can be found.

Located within driving distance of the Atlantic coast and the Pyrenees, this is a good site for touring. The local area has many ancient towns and Navarrenx, just five minutes walk away, offers superb views across the countryside and down the river valley.

Guided tours can be found at Orthez, where the 13th-century bridge withstood the canons of the First World War. The fast-flowing river Gave d’Oloron provides opportunities for fishing and canoeing and quiet riverbank walks. The Basque buildings, countryside and people have a charm of their own that is not found elsewhere in France.

Directions to Camping Beau Rivage

From the north take D936 to Navarrenx. Turn left at first roundabout on D115 into Navarrenx. Turn left at T-junction, go over bridge and follow walls of town all the way around. At next island turn right on D947 and site is signed from here.
