Alan Rogers Review of Camping Bayona Playa
Situated on a narrow peninsula with the sea and river estuary all around it, this large and well maintained campsite is great for a relaxing break. The 450 pitches, 358 for touring, benefit from the shade of mature trees whilst still maintaining a very open feel. All have 5A electricity and 50 are fully serviced. It is busy here in high season so advance booking is recommended. Sabaris is a short walk away and Bayona is a 20 minute walk along the coast, where you can find a variety of shops, supermarkets, banks, bars and eating places. Maximum unit length is 7.5 m.
From the moment you arrive at the well appointed reception, the staff, all of whom speak good English, make every effort to ensure that you have a memorable stay. You can also visit a replica of the Pinta, the ship that bought back the news of Christopher Columbus’ discovery of America, which is moored here. The surrounding countryside has plenty of attractions and a variety of water sports are available, including the site’s own school of windsurfing. Buses run from Sabaris to Vigo and to A Guarda.
Facilities at Camping Bayona Playa
Three well maintained modern toilet blocks (one open low season), washbasins and shower cubicles. No washing machines but site provides a service wash. Accessible Facilities. Large well-stocked supermarket and gift shop (June-Sept). Terrace bar, cafeteria, restaurant. Excellent pool complex with slide (small charge, redeemable in shop and restaurant). Play area. Organised activities July/Aug. Windsurfing school. Cash machine in reception. WiFi near reception area.

From Vigo leave AG57, exit 5 (Bayona North). Follow signs to site at Sabaris, 2 km. east of Bayona.
