Neckargemünd is a pleasant little town on the banks of the Neckar, a short distance from Heidelberg. Camping Friedenbrücke, a level, family run site set on the banks of the river is within a short distance of the town centre and enjoys lovely open views and a peaceful environment. The flat, unmarked pitches all have 10A electricity. The campsite may suffer some flooding each year although a well-rehearsed procedure ensures campers are not affected. The town itself shows the effects of numerous floods since 1650. Despite the Neckar bridge being at high level near the site, there is no real noise and you can sit and enjoy the numerous barges that cruise past the site en-route to the Rhine.

The campsite is within minutes of buses and trains that go straight to beautiful town of Heidelberg with its exceptional town centre. Don’t miss the castle that was built and repeatedly extended between the 13th and 17th centuries. Originally a supremely well-fortified Gothic castle, it is now mostly in ruins.

Facilities at Camping An der Friedensbrücke

The large sanitary block is rather dated with hot showers on payment (0.75/5 mins). Accessible facilities are behind the bar/shop in the newer block, but access via staircase. Laundry room. Motorhome services. Restaurant for simple meals. WiFi.

Directions to Camping An der Friedensbrücke

From Heidelberg take no. 37 road to Neckargemünd. On entering town go straight on and at large set of traffic lights before the bridge be in the left lane to turn left, signed Postestrass. Go down the hill and turn right, site is at the end on the left.
