Alan Rogers Review of Camping Airotel Le Walric
A clean, well kept and well managed site, Le Walric is about 75 minutes from Calais. It has been completely updated with a bar and snack bar, a pool complex (now with a cover), two play areas and entertainment in high season. There are 263 well laid out, large and level grass pitches. Of these, 47 with 6A electricity connections are for touring, with the remainder used for a mix of mobile homes and semi-residential caravans. The site’s situation on the outskirts of the town make it an ideal holiday location. Medieval Saint Valéry is renowned for its association with William the Conqueror. The cathedral cities of Amiens and Abbeville are nearby.
The Bay of the Somme is of special interest to bird enthusiasts. The steam railway that runs from Saint Valery to le Crotoy is a great way to see the birdlife whilst enjoying the nostalgia of the steam era. Another great day could be spent in a guided walk across the Bay at low tide to see the seals. Watersports abound in this area. Cycling is also very popular with traffic-free cycle routes very close to Le Walric. There are two other sites in this group which you may also consider for a stay: Les Galets de la Molliere and Le Bois de Pins.
