Attractively located along the banks of the River Main, this site is just 2 km north of Wertheim, a picturesque medieval old town centred at the confluence of the Rivers Main and Tauber. The town is packed with timber-framed houses and is overlooked by Germany’s largest castle ruin. Rothenburg ob der Tauber dates from the Middle Ages and is steeped in heritage. Wine from the Franken area comes in a Bockbeutel, a uniquely shaped bottle best bought at one of the many vineyards. From the campsite, the River Main provides an ever-changing view as the cruise ships and barges slowly pass.

The site has 200 pitches for touring, and over 50 of its 320 pitches border the river. They are open plan, level, grassed and have 6A electricity. There is tree shade in places, and many pitches enjoy views over the river to the tree-covered hills beyond. With its attractive location in a scenic region and an adjoining swimming pool complex, the site has something to offer all family members.

Site is 40 km. west of Würzburg. Leave Autobahn 3/E41 at exit 66 Wertheim/Lengfurt to Wertheim then north alongside the river to Bestenheid. Site is signed on the outskirts.
