This quiet, well equipped, family park beside the Abbey ruins has views over open farmland. It is an ideal base for a longer stay with plenty of interest in the local area, including Ormskirk parish church, unusual for having both a tower and a spire. The park is divided into small paddocks, one of which is for privately owned seasonal units, one for tents, the other for touring units. The 60 touring pitches, all with 16A electricity, 12 of which have water and waste water, are on hardstanding, separated by small shrubs and colourful flower borders. Mature trees provide shade in parts. Its proximity to the M6 makes this an ideal stopover site when travelling north.

Amenities include a farm walk and a small, free lending library with a good stock of tourist information. There are plenty of routes for walkers from the park. A member of the Countryside Discovery group.

Facilities at Abbey Farm Caravan Park

The main sanitary block is modern, heated and spotless, providing controllable hot showers. Dual purpose family bathroom that includes accessible facilities. A second smaller unit has individual shower/WC/washbasin cubicles. Laundry room. Small well stocked shop at reception. Indoor games room. Small adventure playground and large field for ball games. Fishing lake (£3 per rod, per day). WiFi over site (charged).

Directions to Abbey Farm Caravan Park

From M6 exit 27 take A5209 (Parbold) road. After 5 miles turn left (just before garage) onto B5240, and then first right into Hob Cross Lane, following signs to site.
