Set in the grounds of a château, Castel Camping le Château de Lez Eaux lies in a rural situation just off the main route south, under two hours from Cherbourg. Of the 122 touring pitches, all with electricity (10A, Europlug) and 87 with water and drainage. Les Mures is a site on the Gulf of St Tropez, and it really is on the Gulf with direct access to its own beach. This is a modern site offering the highest standard of amenities. The site is divided into two parts: ‘The Vineyard’ and ‘The Beach’. There are Pitches located directly on the beach, with direct access to the Mediterranean. ‘The Vineyard’ is just a short distance on the other side of a very busy road (connected by a pedestrian underpass) and is more spacious and offers a little more shade; this is where most of the site facilities are located.

Camping Grubhof is a beautifully laid out, level and spacious site set in the former riding and hunting park of the 14th-century Schloss Grubhof. The 250 touring pitches have been carefully divided into separate areas for different types of visitors – dog owners, young people, families and groups, and a quiet area. Camping Sandaya Val André
Camping Val André, previously known as Les Monts Colleux, is a campsite with an unusual town centre location in Le Val André. The site, however, has a hilltop setting and some pitches have fine views of the sea. This was formerly a municipal site and is well-managed with well-kept hedges and pitches. The reception area and shop are modern, although the sanitary blocks are older. The 55 pitches (most with 10A electricity) are generally flat, although, given its hillside location, some are sloping. Although there is no swimming pool on site, there is a large covered municipal pool adjacent, with limited free access for campers.

Yelloh! Village Camping Les Mouettes is a sheltered site on the edge of an attractive bay, with access to the sea at the front of the site. In a wooded setting with many attractive trees and shrubs, the 457 pitches include 63 for touring units, all with electricity, water, drainage, and private sanitary facilities.. The remainder are taken by tour operators and by 406 mobile homes and chalets to rent.

Camping Sandaya Cypsela Resort
This large and impressive, deluxe site is very efficiently run by the Sandaya Group. The main part of the camping area is pinewood, with over 800 clearly marked pitches, 465 dedicated to touring with electricity, water and drainage, and most with hardstanding. The 267 élite pitches of 120 sq.m. are excellent. Cypsela is a busy, well-administered site, only 2 km. from the sea, which we can thoroughly recommend, especially for families. The site has good quality fixtures and fittings, all kept clean and maintained to a high standard. The site has many striking features, one of which is the sumptuous complex of sports facilities and amenities near the entrance.

Camping Saint Disdille
Saint-Disdille is situated 300 m. from the beautiful Lake Geneva and the famous spa towns of Thonon-les-Bains, which can be reached on a bus that passes the site, and Evian-les-Bains. There are 297 large, level touring pitches on stone and rough grass (rock pegs are essential). Large trees give some shade. Those reserved for touring have 10A electricity and are scattered amongst mobile homes and permanent weekender caravans and can be some distance from the facilities situated by the entrance. The site is ideally placed for the large range of watersports in the area, and Switzerland is easily accessible by car, bus, train or boat.

Camping Sandaya Paris Maisons-Laffitte
Occupying a grassy, tree-covered area on the banks of the Seine, Camping Sandaya Paris Maisons-Laffitte is a popular and well-maintained site. The reception staff are welcoming, friendly and multilingual. There are around 300 pitches, 113 occupied by mobile homes and tour operators, plus two areas dedicated to tents. Most pitches are separated by hedges, are of a good size with some overlooking the Seine (unfenced access), and all 170 touring pitches have electricity hook-ups (10A). The roads leading to the site are a little narrow, so large vehicles need to take care. There is a frequent train service and occasional noise from aircraft.

Camping Sandaya Domaine du Verdon
Close to the Route des Alpes and the Gorges du Verdon, Camping Sandaya Domaine du Verdon is a large, level site, part meadow, part wooded, with an attractive range of planting. There are 500 partly-shaded, rather stony pitches (183 for touring units), all with 16A electricity and many with water and drainage. Numbered and separated by bushes, they vary in size and are mostly separate from the mobile homes and pitches used by tour operators. Some overlook the unfenced Verdon River, so watch your children.

Camping Sandaya Parc la Clusure
A friendly and very well-run site, Camping Sandaya Parc la Clusure is highly recommended. Set in a river valley in the lovely wooded uplands of the Ardennes, known as the l’Homme Valley touring area, the site has around 500 large, marked, grassy pitches (around 250 for touring). All have access to electricity, cable TV and water taps, mostly in avenues off a central, tarmac road. There is some noise from the nearby railway. There is a very pleasant riverside walk; the river is shallow in summer and popular with children (caution in winter). The site’s heated swimming pool and children’s pool have a poolside bar and terrace. You will also find over 200 rental accommodations.

Camping les Cyprès
On the edge of a pine forest and just a short walk across the dunes from a fine sandy beach, this could be an ideal spot for a seaside holiday. Les Cyprès is a very French campsite with good basic facilities and a pleasant modern pool complex. The 300 pitches are in an arc curving out towards the sea in both directions from reception; the 141 touring pitches of varying shapes and sizes occupy the southern end of the arc. All have access to electricity (10A) and water, though long leads are required in places and some are more suitable for tents because of the trees.

A secluded holiday village set in the heart of the forest, with many sporting facilities and a super spa centre, Camping les Alicourts Resort is midway between Orléans and Bourges, to the east of the A71. There are around 600 pitches, 138 for touring and the remainder occupied by mobile homes and chalets. All pitches have 6A electricity connections and good provision for water, and most are 150 sq.m. (min. 100 sq.m). Locations vary from wooded to more open areas, thus giving a choice of amount of shade. All facilities are open all season and the leisure amenities are exceptional.

At Camping Porte des Vosges you are assured of a very warm welcome from the owner, Sylvie Drode. This spacious, clean and very well cared for site is situated in Lorraine, on the outskirts of the historic town of Bulgnéville and is just off the E21/A31 making it an ideal stopover as well as for longer holidays. The sloping site has trees and bushes which shade around 100 spacious touring pitches (70-150 sq.m) that are on gravel or grass and there are two equipped tents and a vintage caravan to rent. All the pitches have access to electricity (6A, Europlug) and water points are distributed throughout the site.
