Willowmere Camping & Caravan Park. Our park is an ideal base to tour the beautiful Suffolk/Essex countryside. Sudbury was the birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough and the home of Gainsborough House Museum and shows many of his work. Willowmere is a small, quiet well-kept site sits in attractive surroundings of trees, and neighbouring lakes and meres, in the valley of the River Stour in Constable County. Cornard mere is next door, and is a small quite haven for wildlife, which is cared for by the Suffolk wildlife trust. The site also has a pond where you are free to fish at any time. The local pub is about four hundred yards from the site and serves food (The Brook Inn). The River Stour is four hundred yards through open fields perfect for dog walks. There is a bus stop to Sudbury or Colchester (the oldest record town in Britain) right outside the gate. There are 37 grass touring pitches.

Sudbury itself is a market town Thursdays & Saturdays and various farmer markets throughout the year. There is a large library which houses the tourist information. Sudbury has a large park, Belle Vue, and near to the town centre is the Kingfisher Leisure Centre. Sudbury also has its own theatre ‘The Quay’ puts on productions and shows films throughout the year. There is a bowling alley and two sports centres for different activities e.g., Tennis, Badminton. Great Cornard sport centre half a mile from the site has an outside pool open in summer months.

The toilet block has showers, washbasins and wc’s. Accessible facilities, Laundry, Dish washing area. Chemical toilet point. a. Pets allowed. Gas sales. Nearby golf, horse riding, indoor and outdoor swimming pools. tennis, leisure Centre.
