The picturesque stretch of coast from Cork to Skibbereen reminds British visitors of Devon before the era of mass tourism. This is rich dairy country with green meadows all around and thanks to the warm and wet Gulf Stream climate, it is also a county of gardens and keen gardeners.

The Meadow is best described not as a site but as a one-acre garden surrounded, appropriately, by lush meadows. The owners, who live on the park, have arranged accommodation for 19 pitches, 14 with 6A electric hook-ups (12 Europlugs), among the flower beds and shrubberies of their extended garden. There are 10 hardstandings. This site is not suitable for large units.

The green hills of West Cork hide myriad small coastal villages and scenic roads. Less than 2 kilometres east of The Meadow are the fishing villages of Glandore and Union Hall, twin havens in the summer months for sailing and fishing. A further 5 km. west is the regional centre, Skibbereen, beyond which the landscape moves from ‘unspoilt Devon’ to ‘unspoilt Cornwall’.

Facilities at The Meadow Camping Park

Facilities are limited but well designed and maintained with brand new solar panels. Showers on payment. Washing machine and dryer. Larger units may be accepted depending on length and available space; contact park before arrival. Football and cycling are not permitted on the park. No electric barbecues. WiFi throughout.

Directions to The Meadow Camping Park

Park is 1.5 km. east of Glandore, off N71 road, on R597 midway between Leap and Rosscarbery (coast road). Approach roads are very narrow and therefore unsuitable for large units.
