Nestled in green hills near two pretty white villages, close to the beautiful Praia Odeceixe (beach) is the attractive camping park São Miguel. The site works on a maximum number of 700 campers and there are no defined pitches; you find your own place under the tall trees. There are ample 6/10A electrical points and the land slopes away gently. The impressive main building with its traditional Portuguese architecture is built around two sides of a large grassy square. There are Lisbon arcade-style verandas to sit under and enjoy a drink, coffee or meal while taking in the view across the square to the attractive pool.
There are shops, bars and restaurants nearby, in the villages of São Miguel and Odeiceixe, whilst to the north are the town of Odemira and the pleasant resort of Vila Nova de Milfontes. The site is on the edge of the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano and there are numerous walking and cycling tracks to satisfy the energetic. A number of attractive beaches are within easy reach by car, including little coves edged by interesting formations of volcanic rocks. Back on site, you can enjoy a dip in the impressive pool or a game of tennis. An outdoor cinema operates in summer showing films for children and adults.

Two traditional style toilet blocks with British style WCs and free hot showers. Accessible Unit but no ramp (a fairly steep step). Washing machines. Shop and self-service restaurant. Bar, snacks and pizzeria (June-Sept). Satellite TV. Playground. Tennis (charged). Swimming pool (charged). Dogs are not accepted. Torches useful. WiFi throughout (free).
Directions to Parque de Campismo São Miguel
Odemira is on the Atlantic coast 75 km. north of Lagos at the southern tip. Site is south of the town on the N120 just north of the village of Odeceixe and is well signed.
