Parkcamping Maccagno Lagocamp is a delightful small site with immediate access to the shores of Lake Maggiore and a shingle beach. With hills on each side, the views over the lake are spectacular. There is no entertainment or infrastructure, so the site will suit those who just wish to relax on a traditional style campsite. The 90 pitches vary in size (40-80 sq.m), are relatively flat, most have been re-turfed and many have shade. They are numbered but demarcation is somewhat informal. The bar and shop were completely refurbished in 2015, with a few snacks added to the menu. There are restaurants close by. English, German and Dutch are spoken and the site management is keen to assist you in having a pleasant holiday.

Public transport is ten minutes away and there are very pleasant lakeside walks. This is old fashioned camping which will appeal to many, but the prices are on the high side reflecting its enviable position on the lakeside and access to all forms of watersports. A good night stop along the scenic lakeside route, but also a pleasant spot for a few days’ uncomplicated relaxation – especially if you bring your own kayak or inflatable.

Motorhome services. Newly refurbished bar and shop selling bread and basics. Terrace seating. Basic snacks. Simple play areas and sandpit. WiFi around reception area (charged).

Directions to Parkcamping Maccagno Lagocamp

Site is on the eastern side of Lake Maggiore, a little to the north of the town of Luino. Follow the SS394 towards Maccagno and Locarno. Site is well signed.
